Do’s and Don’ts for your Facebook Business PageTop tips for your Facebook Business Page, just a few do’s and don’ts.

Hi everyone!

Today I’m helping you out with the six do’s and don’ts of your Facebook business page. Have you ever wondered why some pages seem a whole lot more successful than others, or why some people seem to manage to build this traction on social media way quicker than others? Well, these six tips are sure to, help you out.

Complete Your About Section Fully

Tip number one, fill out your about section as clearly and concisely as possible. So this is a great place to use your 30-second elevator pitch if you’ve done one. If not, you need to tell people who you are, what you do and why you do it.

Include Variety in Your Posting Style

Tip number two, don’t use your page to constantly push your products. Just remember people come to social media for a few different reasons. None of them is to buy things when people are buying things they’re searching on search engines. So for social media, people are looking for entertainment, inspiration or education. Outside of that, you need to restrict how often you’re pushing your products and services versus how often you’re sharing valuable information with your audience. You’ll notice I keep most of my videos short because my audience is often moms or busy parents, busy business people who don’t have time to sit down for a 45 Minute Webinar. They want to consume the content and take action on it really quickly and that’s what I encourage with shorter videos.

Develop Your Brands Voice

Tip number three do develop your brand’s voice on social media. Sometimes it helps to start on your website. However, what you want to develop is a voice that your own and it can help to think about how you want people to perceive you. So this comes to your photography and your imagery as well. For me, I like people to think of me as approachable and knowledgeable so I don’t put on a lot of makeup. I’m not doing a lot of flashy stuff, I often don’t do a lot of flashy editing, I might get some headings across the bottom. That’s about all so what it helps to remember is how you want people to perceive you then add some humour and personality.

Share Other Peoples Content

Tip number four do share content from other complementary sources. It’s okay to direct to your ideal audience and the fan base that you’ve built up to other people’s content. In fact, it’s rewarded, your audience will love you for providing them with value, whether it’s from you or another source that you know can help them out. So share and share freely, I recommend a ratio of about 1:3 2 posts of your own and one of these three posts of your own and one from somewhere else.

Use plenty of Images

Tip number five, make sure you use images. I will be covering this in more in-depth in another video of which post types get the most engagement and I’ll link to it somewhere when it’s done. However, use images because they do get 2.3 times more engagement than a link or text-based posts. You’ll notice Facebook have got those coloured backgrounds now for text-based posts. They did that to try and improve the engagement of a content type that’s really just dying in the Facebook world.

So use images. If you can’t use images, go one better and use video.

So make sure you include an image with all of your posts. If possible. Don’t use hashtags. Too often. Just remember Facebook is not Twitter. And it’s not Instagram. hashtags are not native to the Facebook platform. So don’t go overboard with them. By all means, use one or two occasionally just to keep you attracting a new audience to your page. However, studies Some studies have shown that posts with hashtags get a decreased amount of engagement rather than those without so keep it to a minimum perhaps one or two per post.
